Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Tic Tac Toe mobile application (“App”). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may process:
- Account identifiers. When you open the App we create a guest (anonymous) Firebase Authentication account. If you upgrade, we may process your Google account ID token / email, or the email and password you provide, plus the username and display name you choose.
- Game & profile data. Wins, losses, draws, friend relationships, friend requests, matchmaking/queue state, and game board/history needed for solo, friend, and online matches (including optional Hard mode challenges).
- Device & usage analytics. Through Firebase Analytics we may receive app events such as screen views, play attempts, interstitial impressions, and basic device/app metadata (for example app version and device category).
- Advertising data. Google AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and related device information to show ads (including banner and interstitial ads) and measure ad performance.
- Invite sharing. If you use “Invite a friend,” the share sheet on your device may send a message you compose (for example via WhatsApp, email, or SMS). We do not receive the contents of that message unless you send it to us directly.
2. How we use information
- To provide gameplay, accounts, friends, leaderboards, and online/friend matches
- To keep your stats when you upgrade from a guest account
- To improve stability and understand how features are used (analytics)
- To show ads that help support the App
- To prevent abuse and secure the service
3. Legal bases (where applicable)
If GDPR or similar laws apply, we process data based on performance of the service you request (account and gameplay), our legitimate interests (security, analytics, ad support for a free app), and/or your consent where required (for example certain advertising cookies/identifiers).
4. Sharing of information
We share data with service providers that help run the App:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics) — Firebase Privacy
- Google AdMob / Google advertising services — Google Privacy Policy and AdMob & privacy
Other players may see limited public profile information needed for the product experience (for example username, display name, and leaderboard wins). We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data retention
We keep account and game data while your account is active and as needed to operate the App. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us (see below). Analytics and advertising partners may retain data according to their own policies.
6. Security
We use industry-standard providers (Firebase/Google) and access controls (including Firestore security rules). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
8. Your choices & rights
- You can play as a guest without creating an email/Google account.
- You can limit ad personalization in your device settings (Google / advertising ID settings).
- You can request deletion of your account and personal data via our Request Account Deletion page.
- Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise those rights.
9. International transfers
Our providers (including Google) may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, appropriate safeguards are applied by those providers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
